
Anna Aaron
Research Assistant
Anna is from Highland, UT and a third-year student at Brigham Young University, where she is majoring in Human Development & Biological Foundations. At BYU, Anna is Co-President of BYU’s American Medical Women’s Association and a Teaching Assistant for BYU’s Pre-Professional Advisement Center. Before joining Wearables, Anna worked as a Patient Care Technician at one of Utah’s largest Surgical Transplant centers and is passionate about our research to help improve surgical outcomes.
Outside of school and work, Anna loves to play tennis, read, and cook with her husband.

Clark Avondet
Research Assistant
Clark Avondet is an undergraduate researcher from Brigham Young University majoring in Economics. His academic interests bridge medicine, machine learning, and healthcare analytics, with the goal of developing data-driven tools that enhance clinical decision-making. While currently assigned to the Wearables project at the Yang Lab, Clark has also contributed to diabetes and prostate cancer research on BYU campus. When Clark isn’t busy in classes or at work, he enjoys running, camping, and spending time with his friends and family.

Allan-Jacob Castillo
Research Assistant
Allan-Jacob is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, and is pursuing an undergraduate degree in chemistry at Boston College. Entering his third year of college, he’s preparing for the MCAT and working on establishing a chapter of the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative (ALCSI) at Boston College. His connection to Dr. Yang and Wearables was formed through the Young Empowered Scientists for ContinUed Research Engagement (YES for CURE) program, a cancer research program by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Cancer Center. At the moment, his eyes are set on medicine with a specialty in interventional cardiology. In his free time, he enjoys running, cooking, and wandering around the city streets of Boston.

Deetya Gupta
Research Assistant
Deetya is a research assistant for the Wearables Study from Northern Virginia. She is pursuing a major in Neuroscience with a minor in Data Science at the University of Virginia. In addition to her work with the Wearables team, Deetya conducts research on microglia at the UVA School of Medicine, serves as an EMT, and works as a teaching assistant for an undergraduate intro biology lab.
She is passionate about integrating neuroscience and data-driven approaches to improve patient care and health outcomes. Outside of academics and research, Deetya enjoys baking desserts, reading, and spending time with friends.

Quiana Guo
Research Assistant
Quiana Guo is excited to join the Wearables team as a Research Assistant! She is a second-year student at Wellesley College, planning to pursue chemistry. While still exploring the breadth of medical research, Quiana enjoys connecting with others and creating a positive impact on their lives, whether through teaching or researching.
In her free time, she can be found on the tennis courts or playing the violin in chamber groups!

Gina Hanna
Research Assistant
Gina Hanna is from Eatontown, New Jersey and recently graduated from Boston College with a degree in Neuroscience and a minor in Finance. She is currently in a gap year to gain additional clinical and research experience before applying to medical school to pursue her goal of becoming a physician, shaped by her passion for patient care, oncology research, and health equity. At BC, she worked in a neurobiology lab and was actively involved with Relay for Life. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, crocheting, reading, and exploring cafés and restaurants.

Alina Keshwani
Research Assistant
Alina is a rising junior at the University of Michigan, majoring in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience with a minor In Entrepreneurship. She is passionate about health equity, cancer advocacy, digital health, and expanding access to care through technology and community-based initiatives.
At MGH, she contributes to research focused on wearable devices, cancer care, and public health. Outside of the lab, she’s involved in national advocacy, global surgery education, and mentorship programs for underrepresented students.

Carson Ordyna
Research Assistant
Carson Ordyna is from Morgan, Utah and is studying statistics with an emphasis in biostatistics at Brigham Young University. Carson is passionate about harnessing the power of data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to address problems in the fields of medicine and healthcare. Carson has experience working as a research assistant in BYU’s Computational Health Science Lab where he has analyzed clinical data and applied machine learning models to study patterns in emergency room visits. Carson also participated in cross-cultural mental health research by helping to translate diagnostic materials from English to Polish. In his spare time, Carson loves reading, watching movies, and spending time with his wife.
