Wearing the Watch
7 days pre-op, 90 days post-op.
- After participants enroll in Wearables, their primary job is wearing the watch. We ask that patients wear their watch at least 7 days prior to and at least 90 days after their surgery.
- Beyond wearing the watch, participants must synch the watch to their phone every few days. The Fitbit can only collect data for up to 5 days, so synching ensures that all data is saved and sent to our team.
- At the end of the 90 days, participants are sent a pre-paid shipping label and are asked to return the Fitbit watch. Alternatively, patients can opt-in to our 5-year extension program.
Surveys
Surveys throughout study participation.
- Patients are asked to fill out a short daily symptom survey throughout their study participation, and a few lengthier surveys infrequently.
Contact from our Team
Pre-op and post-op visits, phone calls.
- Our goal is to support patients throughout their pre- and post-operative experience.
- After recruitment, we call patients prior to surgery as a reminder to bring their watch to the hospital. We also visit patients in the hospital after their surgery to check in on their recovery process.
- If a participant has questions, we encourage them to contact our team.
